Getting Rid of Wrinkles and Stains
Getting rid of stains is not easy and it is never a fun process. We generally ask people to exercise caution and we also try to do that ourselves. But it is not always possible to do that while wearing a tie and going out and doing some work. Accidents do happen and they leave a stubborn stain on your tie. It feels bad; you need to clean it before it settles on the piece of cloth. When you are trying to remove the stain, remember to blot it and never rub it off because that will harm the fabric and also help the stain to settle on the tie. Note that, you have to take the step immediately.
For blotting the stain, you can use club soda, tonic and seltzer water if it is water-soluble. It helps clean the stain quickly and effectively. However, if it is an old stain, use talcum powder or cornstarch to remove it immediately. Apply the powder and let it sit on the tie before you use a brush to remove it gently. If the stain is a deep one, just repeat the process or else you can do it once only. If you have tried all of these, but the stain denies to go, visit a dry cleaner. Always remember to ask them not to press the tie because that will flatten the rolled edges and make the tie lose shape.
Packing Ties for Travel Purpose
It is important to pack ties properly while traveling to preserve them. Always roll a tie and never fold it. Start rolling from the small end gradually reaching the broader one while packing them individually in ziplock bags. Use shoes to keep the packed tie throughout the journey. As an alternative, you can purchase a travel tie case. These take more room but preserve your ties for a longer period of time.
Follow all these steps to preserve your ties for a longer period of time. Uniform neckties need to be preserved even better because they reflect a particular message from a specific organization. Clean and pack them properly so that you can use them for ages. All the best with your tie venture!
